The demands on modern wood coatings are continuously increasing: architects, designers, carpenters and painters not only expect flawless surfaces, but also sustainable, reliable and user-friendly products. Hesse Lignal offers the right solutions with its innovative water-based lacquer systems. The right primer is crucial for the success of the water-based surface, especially with light-coloured coatings on demanding woods. Two products stand out here:
- HYPERION TI 130 and
- COOL-PROTECT HI 6600-9343
Both were developed specifically for aqueous coating systems – and yet they serve very different requirements.
What exactly are the differences between these two insulating primers? When do you use which system?
Light-coloured, natural or pastel surfaces look elegant and light – but they pose a real technical challenge for water-based surface coatings, especially on tannin-rich woods such as Oak. Without a suitable primer, these woods tend to bleed through and discolour the surface unattractively.
