Optimising production processes - a joint project

In close cooperation between the system manufacturer Hymmen, the measuring sensor manufacturer APOS and us, we have succeeded in developing a holistic batch to reduce the reject rate and improve quality. This innovative technology helps to optimally define and digitally control application quantities. Parameters are checked in a matter of seconds, enabling adjustments to be made quickly. Any deviations detected by the system are notified digitally on a display. It shows which area of the rolling mill has an error. The system also shows the type of error on the display. This eliminates the need for extensive troubleshooting.

How does the UV-NIR sensor work?

Near infrared spectroscopy (NIR) is a powerful analytical technique used for damage-free, real-time monitoring of chemical and physical processes. NIR utilises the near infrared range of the electromagnetic spectrum, which lies between visible light and infrared radiation. It makes economic sense to be able to carry out online coating thickness measurements so that the maximum paint quantity is not exceeded. APOS-NIR replaces sampling and manual weighing
manual weighing on UV rollers. It enables fluctuations in coating thickness to be reduced and system capacity to be increased. Coating thicknesses are determined objectively, independent of personal judgement.

With smart2i from Hymmen, production processes can be optimised and an overview maintained at all times. With individually designed dashboards that can be accessed from any end device worldwide, the activated user always has an overview of the production processes. smart2i offers the opportunity to specifically identify and optimise bottlenecks and weak points in production.

In close coordination and countless series of tests, we have developed a safe and sustainable range of coatings. This product range can be used on all modern rolling machines. The system can be used for all industries in the UV flat area, such as the parquet industry, flat furniture parts or kitchen fronts. The interaction between the measuring sensors from Apos and the matching lacquer systems is exclusive. In the Hesse Innovation Centre, the desired surface structure is jointly developed on original
