Softwood; weathered and structured solid wood

Simulation of decades of use

Versatile application options

Description/ features: This finishing procedure replicates the effect of weathered softwood. The heavily structured solid wood effect of these surfaces makes them appear as if they had been exposed to decades of weathering.

Fields of application : furniture and interior fittings

How to – Weathered softwood

  • Substrate material: solid spruce
  • Use Andalon brushes to structure the surfaces several millimeters deep
  • Spray on 1 x dark Hesse Antique stain WA 58-20506 to be uniformly moist
  • Intermediate drying: 1 h / 20 °C
  • Add a patina using antique stain WA 58-24510. Then accentuate the growth rings as flatly as possible using a cup gun with a small nozzle (1.2 mm) and reduced material flow. Do this by very carefully and uniformly applying the silvery antique stain to create a lovely light-dark effect.
